The sit-stay

I still cannot get the hang of this. I cannot see the point. Why should I sit there when there are things to do, people to see? My trainer says I need to practise this, so I may have some homework to do if Daddy remembers. I won't be reminding him. Anyway, he says we are going to the Lake District tomorrow. Yippee!

Bluebells and wild garlic

The bluebells and wild garlic are coming up to their best.

Ignominy

The ignominy of it! I got chased by a cat! Daddy says it was so funny. He will never let me forget it. I went round to see an admirer who has a cat named Sasha. I knew she was at her flat because I could smell her and her food was about - thank you, Sasha! Anyway, I went into the spare room to investigate and she was hiding. I have never seen this cat before as she always hides when I am around. So I did what had to be done by any self-respecting canine and barked to get some response. But I got more than I bargained for. She charged at me out of the blue and I was so surprised I ran for it. So Daddy and Muriel were there in the lounge seeing me running through being chased by Sasha. When I composed myself, I turned round and there was a stand-off, me barking again and Sasha just staring at me. Eventually, Sasha sloped off and I was left to nurse my pride.

A new award

Here is an award for my friends to put on their blog.

Ball on a rope

Here are some photos of my new favourite toy, the ball on a rope. I love rolling on it, playing with it, burying it....

and above all, chasing it! It goes a long way...

Paradise

What a gorgeous morning! We met a lot of friends (canines and humans). One of them said that it was like paradise in the woods. I think they were talking about the weather and the bluebells were at their best. On the other hand, I was in paradise because I got to play with a new ball on a rope. Perfick, as Pop Larkin used to say in The Darling Buds of May.

Mr Wiggly

I have got the nickname Mr Wiggly at training. Could it be because I wag my whole body as well as my tail? I like that name; I think it suits me.

Training

They've named the day and it's 3 June for the Bronze Award. Oh, darn it, I can't make it!

It's biscuit time

I know you've got a biscuit, 'cos I can smell it.

Wow, another award

I got another award this morning. That's cool. Thank you, Thor! All the way from Brazil. That's a long walk!

Wye Valley Walk leg 1

Just realised I haven't told you about another project we've embarked on - the Wye Valley Walk. I walked this leg from Chepstow to Whitebrook last month and did it again today so that a friend could catch up with the rest of us - 14 miles. I love the river of course!

Training

Went training tonight and met up with my pals after the Easter break. I still need to work at my sits and stays but otherwise I reckon I was not too bad. The bronze award test is going to be in a few weeks. Daddy is a bit nervous about that. Well, I'm not, so why should he be?

Like mother, like son

I met up with my mother, Poppy, again yesterday. What a great time we had at Snelsmore Common. We found a pond of course and, boy, was it muddy!

Another flattie

I came across another flattie yesterday at the waggon wash. I think this is only the second I have seen around home. We had great fun jumping in after sticks and getting very wet - ah, bliss!

This morning I had a message from Sari and Men in Black. There are some great photos there and a link to a Facebook group - flatcoats, so we've joined.
