Last night, I obtained my Kennel Club Good Citizen gold award! It was not easy, but my 6 friends and I all managed it. I nearly messed up with the 2 minute down-stay, as I was distracted. I was OK on my second attempt, which turned out to be the longest 3 minutes of my life! Daddy tried to mess it up as well with the questions, but he scraped through. In my opinion, he was trying to be too clever.
It was a happy occasion because we all passed, but it was also sad because that was the last night of training for me. I have made a lot of friends there and the trainers (Jeanette, Celine, et al at Castle Court Dog Training Club) said they will miss me as well. I was always so excited every Wednesday night. Anyway, let's hope an agility class can be set up locally later this year so I can stretch myself even further.

Training
Had my last (14th) lesson in the starter class tonight. I need to practise with fewer commands and more hand signals. I have a tendency to wait for treats before obeying commands and I have been sussed, darn it! Apparently, the idea is for Daddy to train me and not the other way round.
I'm off to the Lakes tomorrow (yippee!) and so I start my new class in September.

Training
Went to training (13th lesson) last night and it was hot. Did some more bronze award training. I was alright on most things but Daddy hasn't been teaching me the down-stay, so I need to do more of that. Teacher said some of us should be moving up after the summer - scary!
It's even hotter today (***I'm 7th months today***) - over 33 degrees C in the garden, so I took a dip in my pond after my walks - that's very handy.
Daddy has been doing his social secretary bit and arranged for me to be at friends (and their masters) during his nephew's wedding on Saturday. Apparently, dogs and wedding outfits don't mix, I don't know why.

A lot has happened
A lot has happened since my last entry.
I had my second training class on Wednesday at the Dog Training Club. I disgraced myself because I was so excited and Daddy hadn't walked me long enough after tea! Anyway, the trainers were very understanding and I had a great time. I was taught to walk closely to heel on a lead amidst all sorts of distractions and that is what I will be doing on a lot of my future walks. I think I must be doing quite well because today a neighbour said I was well-trained!
Jeanette says that I need 3 or 4 walks of 20 minutes each per day, maybe one of which can be off the lead. No leaping. My joints will not set until I am 7-9 months old. Swimming will be good for me.
On Thursday, I had a day with Auntie Avril and Uncle Roland while Daddy went gallivanting off to the Malvern Hills. That would have been way too far for me. I got to go to Whale Wharf at Littleton-upon-Severn and I think I was good, but I would say that wouldn't I?
I had a lie-in this morning after some energetic games last night. I love playing chase, sometimes I do the chasing and sometimes I am chased - great fun. I am actually quite tired today.

School
I went to my first puppy training class tonight at Castle Court Dog Training Club with Jeanette. That was exciting. I was allowed to take part even though it was a taster and it was great fun. I think I was the youngest and certainly the loudest. I am hoping to go again when classes restart after Easter.
