Another great trip to the Lakes with mixed weather. We had everything from snow to sun and fantastic walking on the fells most days. Generally it was very warm for the time of year. I have forgotten about my stiffness that I had when I went away. It must have been a recurrence of my back strain I have had before.
These are the walks, most of which I have done before, but I did bag 2 new tarns - Caspel Gate Tarn and Small Water - on the Haweswater walk.

The Lakes and the Fellrangers completed in July 2016
Had another great fortnight dodging the showers. But who cares about getting wet? I don't.
I swam in Derwentwater, Bassenthwaite Lake and Loweswater on the way back from Carlisle (Daddy was shopping or something) - a long drive but worth it for the swimming.

After a couple of climbs up Beacon Fell, I also climbed my last 3 Fellrangers - Knockmurton, Bell Crags and Wallowbarrow.

Another wet fortnight in the Lakes January 2016
This fortnight was not as disappointing for me as it was for Daddy. I got to swim twice every day and walked up Beacon Fell and Brock Barrow. However, we did not manage any day walks in the mountains because it was so wet and windy due to storms Gertrude and Henry. We came home a day early to avoid storm Imogen.

The Lakes in July 2015
Another trip to the Lakes ticking off Wainwright Outlying Fells. Even though they are supposed to be easier to do than the main Wainwrights as they tend to be lower and involve shorter walks, access can be difficult. Also, this time there were cattle with their calves to contend with. We were surrounded on Caermote Hill by some and Daddy was head-butted and trampled on! I managed to get away unscathed, but our walking was somewhat curtailed for the rest of the visit.

Posted to facebook - one feed or two?
I have a question about feeding flatcoats. I am a bit worried that I am feeding Dexter too much. Dexter is 7 and creeping over 30kg. He was 28Kg when he was neutered at the age of 2. The vet said then that he should be kept to that weight. I feed Dexter twice a day on James Wellbeloved kibble plus some cooked chicken (and some toast at lunchtime!). I am thinking of reducing this to one meal a day in the evening. Do you feed your flatcoat once or twice a day, plus treats of course?
The consensus was definitely two feeds a day.
